Caterham Cars see's 50% increase in sales thanks to website

Webheads Interactive set about a multi-phased development of the Caterham Cars website in the Autumn of 2000.

In phase one, an online new and pre-owned showroom was developed which resulted in an immediate increase in vehicle interest and saw a 50% increase of pre-owned in the first 9 months of the site launch. The online showroom is updated by Caterham sales team using the Content Management System, which formats the text and also resizes and optimises the car images as they are upload via the CMS administration area. "It's simple and easy to use, and it means as soon as we have new stock, it's online and our registered customers are notified by email". Andy Noble, Head of Sales & Marketing for Caterham Cars.

In phase two, an online Merchandise store, with an ecommerce system backend. Launched just before Christmas, it was a great success - and continues to receive £2-3K of orders every month. With the success of the Merchandise Store and online Parts Store was launched soon after. "The Parts and Merchandise Online Stores, not only have increased sales, but also have saved us hours and hours of time spent on the telephone taking orders". You can also book yourself a Caterham track day at a number of top UK circuits. Again it's been a huge success so much so, that there's only a handful of places left!

The Caterham Website development continues with an updating of the site and further development of the Online Showroom planned over the next few months.
